IOSH Working Safely

Course Content

This course covers the following:

 

  • The Law and Your Responsibilities

  • Understanding the moral, legal and financial reasons for working safely

  • Hazards and Risks

  • Understanding what is meant by the terms ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’ and how to identify common hazards faced in the workplace

  • Health & Safety Performance Understanding how to assist employers to improve safety performance in the workplace

  • Environmental & Pollution Management

  • Appreciate the fundamental requirements of effective environmental waste and pollution management

Assessment & Certification

The process following course completion is as follows;

  • Delegates complete an assignment at the end of the course

  • Trainer marks the assignments within a 2 week deadline.

  • Once marked results are submitted to IOSH

  • Certificates are received from IOSH and are forwarded on to the customer

This IOSH accredited course will provide delegates in a managerial position with knowledge on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams

IOSH Managing Safely

Course Content

This course covers the following:

 

  • Law and Regulations - An overview of the key pieces of legislation and regulations that apply to the workplace

  • Risk Management - Understanding, assessing and controlling risk to ’reasonably practicable’ levels

  • Accidents at Work - Investigating accidents in the workplace to establish immediate and root causes

  • Health & Safety Performance Indicators - Analysing reactive and proactive health and safety performance indicators

  • Environmental & Pollution Management - Appreciate the fundamental requirements of effective environmental waste and pollution management

Assessment & Certification

The process following course completion is as follows;

  • Delegates complete an assignment at the end of the course

  • Trainer marks the assignments within a 2 week deadline.

  • Once marked results are submitted to IOSH

  • Certificates are received from IOSH and are forwarded on to the customer

This course aims to provide delegates with skills and knowledge in safe team leading. Appropriate for delegates that have already achieved the CCNSG Passport and are in a management or supervision role; alternatively, those who have a key role in the correct implementation of health and safety on site

Who should attend?
ECITB LaTS is aimed at delegates currently within a managerial position or those who have responsibility for wider teams. Delegates may have little or no prior training in health and safety or the fundamentals of leadership.

 

Delegates MUST have a valid CCNSG Safety Passport prior to course attendance.

ECITB CCNSG Leading a team safely

This is a 1 day course.
Maximum attendees: 12 delegates.

Course Content

Upon successful completion an ECITB Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) training course, delegates will have the skills to:

  • Influence the behaviour of those that they supervise

  • Ensure good planning and communication of health and safety related to site work

  • Help to ensure workers work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and other

 

An ECITB Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) training course includes:

  1. Strategies for working safely with others

  2. Tips for communicating successfully

  3. Leading a team effectively

  4. Guidelines for achieving safe outcomes

  5. Techniques for self-management

  6. An awareness of health and safety at work and their responsibilities for creating a safe workplace

  7. An understanding of safe solutions to problems in the workplace

Upon successful completion delegates will receive an ECITB Leading a Team Safely certificate which is valid as long as the holder has a valid CCNSG Safety Passport

The CCNSG Safety Passport National Course is a two-day training course, giving delegates enhanced health and safety awareness through ECITB’s quality-assured delivery process.

 

All work exposes people to hazards, this is especially true for the engineering construction industry. That’s why it is imperative that everyone working on site is correctly trained.

 

Suitable for all members of the workforce, this nationally-recognised course helps to reduce accidents and lost time incidents on sites.

 

What is CCNSG?

A safety passport scheme to ensure a basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them, after appropriate site induction, to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others.

Delegates working in an industrial environment - from labourers to project managers.

This is a 2 day course.
Maximum attendees: 16 delegates.

  • Understanding personal site safety responsibilities

  • Health and Safety legislation , Regulations and Safe Working Practices

Upon successful completion delegates will receive an ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport card which is valid for 3 years

The First Aid at Work training course, which conforms with HSE guidance, provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.​

Who should attend?
This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training. It is most suited to those working in high-risk environments, such as building sites or warehouses. Persons attending must be 18 years old or older

This is a 3-day course
Maximum attendees: 10

  • Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)

  • Seizures

  • Shock

  • Spinal injuries

  • Stroke

  • Unresponsive adult

The First Aid at Work Requalification training course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommends that you requalify within a month of your certificate expiring.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for people wishing to renew an existing, valid First Aid at Work certificate. Please note that the requalification course is an intensive course with very little practice time and designed for people whose certificate is still in date. If you do decide to attend the requalification course you will need to work at the pace of the course. Persons attending must be 18 years old or older.

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, such as small offices. The course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only. Persons attending must be 18 years old or older.
